Well I think we should all have an idea of who we are, where we are from, what we all do to earn a living and how many registered users there are on the board. I notice on the other side Pprune there is a counter at the top giving the number of registered users I think that would be a good idea and maybe it could be incorporated into this site. Perhaps all new registered users could post to this thread as a way of practising and also to introduce themselves to the rest of us. So I’ll start
Capt Night Freight, Manchester United Kingdom, Captain on heavy turbo prop flying night freight.
Right who’s next?

I'm a journalist (don't say that too loudly over at PPRuNe --joke) working in both newspaper and radio. I've covered transportation issues since the late '50s, altho not all the time. As a journalist, I try to be responsible, a quality that is all too often lacking in our field.
I'm also a Braille transcriber, Talking Book narrator and I volunteer reading the newspaper over the radio for local blind people (26 years as of the day of this posting).
I also tend to have New York Center on my scanner (Pennsylvania section) and am probably one of the few newspaper reporters who knows what "no wheels, no deals" means.
The PPRuNe folk, of necessity, must disguise their identities. I'm one of the few who lists his real name, real e-mail, occupation and city.
oh ... and I live in a city with a river: Wilkes-Barre PA.

Nobody in this damned town has sex. I'm in the prime of my youth (well, I can still remember it anyway) and there's nothing but sexless, child raising suburbanites for as far as the eye can see, maybe you're right and they're all worn out... http://www.crewstart.com/ubb/images/icons/wink.gif

Hey Night Freight - Guess we're the only one's at the party. Maybe the two of us could find an issue we don't see eye to eye on, and duke it out just for the fun of it?! http://www.crewstart.com/ubb/images/icons/tongue.gif How about politics? Religion?, Sports teams, anything??? http://www.crewstart.com/ubb/images/icons/wink.gif
As for the smilies... http://www.crewstart.com/ubb/images/icons/grin.gif, there's a legend on the lefthand side as you enter your post and that'll tell you which one's this board is designed to understand.
Hope everything's going well for you, take care!

Hi traveler!
So...that makes you , Night Freight, River City (who dabbles in journalism, but not enough to be considered a threat) http://www.crewstart.com/ubb/images/icons/wink.gif and there's me of course, and then we always have Capt. Gossip to pick on! http://www.crewstart.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif
Somewhere around here, we've got Captain Anonymous, OldAge84, Just Me!, Just Another Pilot, Toolman, LatinFlyer, Super.conny, Thomas, and Black & White (that I can remember off the top of my head) kickin' around - they must've stepped out for a smoke...
The rest of 'em will be around as soon as they can break away from other...well, obligations! http://www.crewstart.com/ubb/images/icons/tongue.gif
Man, if we were a cheerleading squad - we'd be a pretty sorry bunch, huh?! LOL http://www.crewstart.com/ubb/images/icons/grin.gif

Well, I'm a newbie to the board and also to the airline industry. Although if they counted PAX flying experience, I would have decent seniority. http://www.crewstart.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif HA! Great to find you all!! You can guess at where I am from.

I just love vegetables and don't drink alcohol. But I guess it's my age and gravity that makes me a little heavier on the bottom. (I'm a guy, but the old saying still holds: "What doesn't sag, wrinkles.") When I was in a small plane out in Alaska, out in the middle of nowhere, there were five of us SLF and the pilot; he asked us our weight, then distributed us around the "cabin" to load the plane properly. I often wondered how much he added to each person's declared weight...
hmmm ... I wonder if Crewrumors will be the "bar" that the PPRuNers hang out at when they just want to chat without raising any real issues.

Hi Capt Night Freight!
Sorry for my late response, but I have been quite busy with crewstart lately...In fact you were right when you started this topic; we did not have a counter in the beginning, but we changed that after some requests. We also changed the option if a member can delete his own post; that's possible now.
About me; maybe I am not even allowed to post here http://www.crewstart.com/ubb/images/icons/grin.gif because I am not a pilot myself, I am a purser working for KLM. BTW my real name is Paul Wink, for those who work for KLM. I really do like this topic and invite all other members to respond as well!
