PILOTS SUFFER PTSD?: Dr. Daniel Kupper, a professor of psychology at
UCLA, said that most commercial pilots could experience a form of Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of witnessing, via TV, the
attacks on the World Trade center. Kupper is worried that flight crews
could suffer from anxiety, sleeplessness, and social problems. At the
same time, these same pilots could be frightened of being grounded for
emotional reasons and, therefore, may not seek help.
