Basic Salary
Captains £60,000
Senior First Officers £36,716
First Officers £29,766
Line Training Captains £66,0001 (10% on basic Capt)
Type Rating Instructors £67,5001 (12.5% on basic Capt)
Type Rating Examiners £69,0001 (15% on basic Capt)
Airborne Base Instructors £70,5001 (17.5% on basic Capt)

Sector Pay

For Line and Training pilots the nominal sector is £21.99 for Captains, £15.94 for Senior First Officers and £12.76 for First Officers. It is expected that an average amount of sectors will be 420 sectors per year.

The sector pay has been adjusted to ensure that our pilots are not disadvantaged from those in competitor airlines and the adjustment includes considerations of tax relief, crew food and night stop allowance. We will continue to benchmark against our competitors and any changes they make with respect to the above considerations will result in an equalising adjustment to easyJet sector pay.

Simulator or ground training duties will not disadvantage training staff as these duties will be awarded sectors equivalent to the average flying day and adjusted to compensate for the 32% tax relief available for flying duty. This adjustment is based on the current sector pay tax agreement and hence will be reviewed accordingly should there be any change in our tax agreement.

Loyalty Bonus

easyJet offers a loyalty bonus to all flying staff after two years full employment. This is calculated on the 31 March each year and is paid in the following month. The amount is based on your basic pay and is dependent upon the company being in profit. The percentage paid increases are stated below:

Years Percentage
2-5 years 5%
5-10 years 10%
10+ years 15%

Benefits

easyJet will also continue with the following benefits:

Pensions - easyJet offers you a fully contributory pension scheme at a rate of 7% of basic salary. You can also make personal contributions if you want to, with the amount being decided between you and the independent financial advisor. The management strongly believes that this is a worthwhile benefit having negotiated extremely good terms with Scottish Equitable. You will need to meet with the independent financial advisor to fully ascertain your circumstances.

Loss of licence insurance - Insurance will be purchased in respect of loss of licence. Terms and conditions will be available from the insurance company. The premiums are to be paid by the company. However, this will be treated as a benefit in kind and therefore you will be taxed on the benefit. The cost of the benefit will vary with age and income. It will remain your responsibility to ensure that your personal details are made available to the insurance company and that any changes in circumstances are notified to them. The amount of cover will be £60,000 for Captains and £40,000 for Senior First and First Officers.

Personal Accident Insurance - This insurance will financially protect those pilots who suffer personal accidents and, as a result, are unable to assume their normal duties. Terms and conditions are available from the Insurance company. Again, the premiums will be paid by easyJet, and treated as a benefit in kind. The amount of cover will be equal to twice your basic salary.

Aircrew Legal Protection - This service is provided by Aircrew Legal Protection Limited (ALPL) and gives the following benefits.

The key benefits are:

Worldwide cover (Excluding USA and Canada)
Quick access to expert legal advice
Up to £125,000 Limit of Indemnity

The scheme provides the following representation and services:

Statutory enquiries in civil and in military courts
Non-statutory enquiries
Disciplinary proceedings
Personal injury claims

The scheme also provides representation if you so require for issues arising in connection with your employment and a 24 hour general legal help line is available which will give you access to a solicitor who will advise you on any legal question. This is restricted to UK law and is an advice service only free of charge.

Death in Service - Should you die as an employee of easyJet Airline Co ltd, up to the age of 65, either in your own time or company time, then a payment will be made to your nominated beneficiaries of four times your basic salary. A form nominating your beneficiaries will be completed at the time you meet with the financial advisers. Should you wish to change your beneficiaries you will need to notify the financial advisers. If a claim arises the trustee will pay the amount in accordance with the latest nomination form held. This sum will not be added to your estate for inheritance tax calculations.

Medicals - In line with CAA guidelines for medical charges we have increased our payments for medicals to £280.32 per annum for Captains and £183.48 per annum for Senior First and First Officers, all payable in 12 monthly instalments. These figures have been adjusted to reflect the current tax agreement and will be reviewed subject to any changes in the agreement.
