View Full Version : Waiting for AA should I apply to another anyway??

I am patiently waiting for AA to rehire FAs so I can hopefully get hired AGAIN!! Meanwhile I am paranoid to apply for another airline for fear that working for another airline may be a factor in not getting back on with AA. Does anyone have any comments regarding this? How about AE? Could I go from AE to AA when/if they rehire? any suggestions appreciated thanks.....

I don't know what goes on inside AMR headquarters but what I do know is that they lost a half-billion dollars the first half of this year. I don't think they'll be hiring anytime soon.

We at AA hear more layoffs are coming in the fall. No numbers or departments yet. Just wanted to give you a heads up

gotrace, yeah unfortunately i have heard about lay-offs comin . the only thing i can say hang in there, maybe at some point things will turn around, although dont wanna hold me breath. good luck to ya graemlins/plane_smilie.gif

All that I can say is that if I was to put myself in your shoes, I would not wait on AA. The reason I say this is because it will be, in my opinion, 2004, before AA or any other major hires any flight attendants. I hope that I am wrong. I hope that 2003 will profitable for all airlines. I want to see air travel exceed the pre 9/11 levels. You may want to check and see about American Eagle. I have heard that they may be hiring.

Okay people, another rumor is circulating that someone who is an insider and works closely with
Jane Allen has verified that big lay-offs coming in September......FA's , ramp dudes, gate agents,
thw whole bit....now like I said this is quite possibly rumor, hope it is.....but of course like with anything it might be fact as well....September isnt that far off so lets all hang on tight!!! images/icons/confused.gif
