Hi!
I'm curently waiting for a training class with SWA to be a f/a, but mu husband is going to school for commercial pilot right now. Can anyone answer me the question on how hard it is as an American to be a pilot getting based out of Germany? Since I just recently moved from Germany to the US, we both decided to move back there in a couple years. Is that possible. Would a German airline hire American pilots/what are the difficulties. Thanks for any suggestions and answeres.

Hi

I can see two possibilities for you.
- He has the right to live in Europe (EU passport, Residency) and holds a JAR (EU) Commercial Licence.
- He gets a job with a US company but gets a base in Europe. Not very common, specially if he isn't very experienced.

You may be aware of that but a licence conversion from his FAA one will cost a lot more than the one he is taking at the moment...

Good Luck though graemlins/windsock_smilie.gif
