Quantas recruiting UK base

Heard a rumour the other day, that BA are no longer going to fly to Australia, that all the flights will be done by Quantas. Therefore (so the rumour goes) Quantas will be recruiting a UK base. Anyone got the scoop on this one???? Also, if they are recruiting, any QF crew like to comment on what QF are like to work for?

It's true that BA have ceased operating direct flights to MEL and ADL, and as of 31st October, will end services to BNE and PER. However, a complete pull out of Australia is unlikely, London to Sydney will become double daily for BA on 744 and rumours abound of a 777 to PER via CPT. The route to SYD is a profitable one for BA, and has opted for a codesharing, and profit sharing agreement with Qantas on BA's less profitable routes to Perth and Brisbane.

Whilst there is no London base planned at present, ads will appear shortly inviting locals to apply for bases in HKG and SIN.
