Ever heard about....the "spooky plane"?!!!...yes, I did wrote "spooky"...One airline for which I used to work for had its "famous" A/C....I am not crazy and not kidding you but it is a true story. I will not go into details but some of my colleagues were very nervous when finding out during the pre-flight briefing that we were going to spend the rest of the day on the "ghost plane".(one of its many nicknames!...) Most of the staff, load controllers, pilots, cabin crew, engineers were "uncomfortable" working near on in that A/C. One engineer at the main base claims that he and his colleagues felt a strong presence while working this plane, during a nightshift... whether staff would believe in the rumours on not, we were all intrigued by it... apparently some parts of this A/C were taken from another which, unfortunately, crashed a few years ago... stowage cupboards opening after we checked they were closed, the same for plastic bottles of water, etc... never a boring moment when working on that plane, I will not give its registration for reasons you can understand...have you got any exciting story like this? have you also heard about a "ghost plane" ?....who said flying was boring?!!!... http://www.crewstart.com/ubb/images/icons/grin.gif

Dear Flying Chick
At my old airline we used to have very very old B737-100's (One of them is now in a museum - true. It was #1 off the production line!) Anyway that was before my time in the sky, but I am told by both tech crew and flighties that one of them was haunted all sorts of wierd stuff went on, some even say they saw 'images'....
Also there is that story of the ghost of flight 401 (Eastern L1011) it is all ment to be true. Ya reckon we oughta write a story for the X-files !!!!!!!
BOOO!
(I used to be a nurse, there were plenty off spooky stories going around then especially on night duty in the ICU!!)
Cheers

For those of you too young to remember Eastern Airlines and The Ghost of Flight 401...Click here. (http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Camera/9599/flight.html)
The Flight Engineer’s ghost was supposedly seen in the lower galley of L-1011s that had salvaged parts from the crash. One F/A reported that she looked through the door of one of the ovens and he was looking back at her. http://www.crewstart.com/ubb/images/icons/shocked.gif Some F/As refused to work the galley position on any L-1011 because of that.

An interesting sidebar to that flight is that one of the cabin crew saved a pax life monemts before impact. The crew was strapped in for landing when some clown got up to go to the toilet( that never happens!). She, a salty NY-er told him if he didnt sit down right now it would be the last time hed ever use the toilet, or something to that effect. Monemts later, the plane crashed, and that toilet was destroyed, the seat she got him to sit in was fine and he lived!!

i have a good one ...its a very very olld aircraft and, once, during a flight almost 5 min before landing a passenger went in to the 1l lavatory (gee im not sure but its a 727-200) told you its a very old one!)and the thing is that he killed hisself with a dinamite cartridge, as i said luckily the plane was already landing and no one else got hurt, but al the passsenger's little pieces flew over the cabin crew(they were chatting on the jumpseat)i know that they had to take several showers to get l the blod washed away and months later they'll find body pieces in that plane, (he suicided cause he bought a life insurance so the family could claim it (crazy isnt it?) so going to the scary part i felt ugly things when i flew on that plane it was a feeling of somebody watching you all the time, well the sacriest thing is that one of the f/a's on that plane i think 15 or so years later became a purser....she was crazy so those were sacry horror flights....

Here's one for you.........
At my airline we have a crwe rest area that it reputed to be haunted. It's on the A340 (so they could swap the damn thing over from plane to plane....but I think I know which a/c it's on now!)
There are 2 stories regarding the "Haunted" crew rest. One is that it is haunted by the ghost of a dead f/a (Definitely DON'T like the idea of that) and the other goes like this.
In the middle of her rest a young female f/a awoke in her bunk needing to pop to the loo. (WHY is it you always need a pee as soon as you get on rest????!!!) She drew back the curtains of her bunk and jumped when she saw that there was an old lady sat on the seat at the bottom of the stairs. (any 340 crew know what I'm taling about). She said to the old lady that she shouldn't really be down there and was she travelling alone? The old lady replied that no she wasn't, her husband was "up there" pointing towards the main cabin and I believe saying a seat number. The young f/a went up the stairs and found the man. She woke him and explained that she had just spoken to his wife and would he mind coming down to get her as she seemed a little disorientated. The old man looked shocked and after the f/a had finished explaining to him what had happened he explained to her that there was no way he could come and get his wife as she was lying in her coffin in the hold having died whilst on holiday. UUUUUUUUURRRRRRRGH!!!!!! Probably one of those "urban legends" type thing....but wouldn't like to know for sure.

Here's another one!
An f/a at my former airline had children running up and down the aisle and to quiet them down she went to fetch coloring books for them. When she came back looking for them, there appeared not to be a single child on the entire airplane (an MD88).
Another guy woke up from his beauty sleep on the last row on a ferry flight from overhearing the purser tell another F/A to go aft and wake him since they were about to land. They were sitting in C-class so he couldn't have heard them. Anyway, he opens his eyes to find a girl in white standing in the aisle looking down at him in the dark. It took him a while to realise that it couldn't be a pax or a f/a (we didn't wear white) and jump up and race past her to the front cabin where the others were sitting. On seeing his white tint (he's black, mind you)one of them reacted: H. what's the matter, you look like you've seen a ghost!
I'm not sure if I believe these tales, but it did make flying those planes all the more interesting

obviously, i am not going to say who i work for.
we have an aircraft that overran the runway and went off in the water about 5 years ago. In pics of the accident that big ole tail number is sticking right out of the water.
we still fly that baby. i just feel all warm and fuzzy when i walk on and see that special aircraft number on the door. i guess it was gutted and whatever but still........
