I hope you can give me some pointers. My Company has hired a lot of new f/a for the past 2years. These f/a are mostly University students. They come onboard with a big attitude,no team work, mouth back-if told to do something. They are written up all the time but the company does didly doo.

Hey Koolkat
You wonder how they get through the interviews - huh?
We have a few that have zero people skills, and can not be taught anything. There is one that I usually send off for crew rest all the time because she just ends up getting in the way, and no one can teach her - what an attitude!
Most of our crew are fantastic, team playing is what it is all about. That's where most of the fun and good times start too.
Our ground trainers have said frequently, when they are training a new intake and there is even one that does not get on, or be a team player it reeally shows during the evacuation drills at E.P.'s. In a real event (G-d forbid) I want teamsters!
Even the cabin service flows better when everyone gets along - do these attitude guys not realise they are missing out!?

I know JetBlue in NYC encourage uni students to apply for their short term contracts, is that a policy of your airline too?
Good luck, if you find a solution to dealing with these attitude bunnies be sure to let me know!

Try to involve other pursers and seek the support of your managers and trainers.
I don't think there is much you can do whitout their support, and I think it mustn't be difficult for them to understand how bad that kind of attitude can be in a teamwork. Even the good ones will follow.
But how exactly means that they do didly doo? What kind of answers did you get and from who?

Hi everyone:
These F/A are on probation for 6months,from date of hire. When they are written up, the supervisor should have a meeting with them, to discuss their performance. However this is not happening. When you ask these supervisors, why these F/A are not being called into the office. The answer"we will, its just been very busy but these f/a will have a meeting soon." --like I said didli-doo is done about it.

Try to speak to your boss. Ask him/her if there is any particular reason for this behaviour, and in case to involve you. If it doesn't work try to talk to his /her boss, better if through the union, letting him/her know about what is going on and the possible demotivation of the rest of the personnel that will follow.
