What sort of personality do you need to be cabin crew? I've been described on my school reports as "quietly confident". I'm not shy and I'm very friendly and will talk to practically anyone. I'm not very extroverted and loud either.

Do airliners look at your reports?? If they do that is good!!
In my reports i have been described as "A always smiling person who can cheer anybody up!!, very popular with his peers, has a great personality!!"
I think that is a good comment. Don't you??
If somebody could answer my question aswell, then it would be most welcome!!
Cheers

They look for all personality types since the pax are all different. Also if the crew was all out going then no one would get any work done. You tend to find the crew member that doesn't want to face pax that day choose to work in the galley. But in answer to the question I'd say all types since each type has it's ups & downs with the other. Given your discription I'd say you would make a good listener yet a people person.

I don't think that they do look at school reports-not in the UK anyway, but when the airline asks for references your employer will tell them what your like as a person and the interviewers will see what you are like at the interview.

Another thing which also comes into play is what airline you are wishing to work for, as airline crews tend to have their own identity, so to speak. As well as being able to treat passengers politely and all that usual stuff, the interviewers (some of whom will already be FAs in the company) will be looking to see if you fit into the 'company personality' as well. No point in hiring a person who is not going to find it easy to get on with their colleagues/'team'! http://www.crewstart.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif
