Unfortunatly yes, also grounding 5 aircraft, though they haven't specified whether these will be Boeings or Airbuses or a mixture, as they trim routes back.
I know you will be disappointed Katie, from your other posts, but keep your pecker up Hon, this will affect all the airlines, but lets look forward to the future; business will recover. It may take a while, but historically aviation has peaks and troughs in demand, yes, this looks like a major trough ahead, but don't give up! images/icons/wink.gif
In the past airlines have often tried to 'weather the storm' (nationalised ones in particular)and ended up making tremendous cut backs just as their business is starting to recover. I feel what we are seeing is an attempt at pre-empting the downturn by the major airlines, so helping to keep a handle on the finances.
At the end of the day, we all want to see every airline still flying in a year or so's time. It would be terrible if an airline went bust in the future through not acting now. Although here in the UK most of our airlines make their money on the transatlantic routes, remember that there are other routes in their schedule, such as Hong Kong etc for Virgin.... something we often forget when we think Virgin = LHR/JFK
