I just read in the Daily News Update about the flight attendant and pilot hit with a stray bullet while traveling from the hotel to their morning flight.

Hi CO757.

Thats terrible. Where and When? See if you can get more info. I hope they are all doing fine. I cannot see this a part of my job risk. I hope that they are not hurt very bad. Was it international? If it was I bet it was Guayaquill, Ecuador. We have had some trouble their lately. Please keep us informed.

According to the DNU, it happened in Chicago. Doesn't state from what hotel they were travelling, but I would assume if was from the downtown layover. Don't know for sure. Man! Just what we need to worry about: getting killed to/from the layover. I guess it's not enough to worry about getting injured/killed on board. The passengers are after us on the hotel van, too!! images/icons/mad.gif

Hey Frob/FlyMy and 757....here's a paste of the bullet I sent to the Manager of the Trib on line edition:

sbabcock@tribune.com <sbabcock@tribune.com>

I've been burning over this for a couple of days now. I'm an employee of Continental Airlines. When I first heard about the incident at Cabrini-Green with one of my colleagues it was the first of many phone calls from worried crew members....my first thought was to call The Trib!! Remember the Trib? The newspaper that used to be reader-friendly... (long distance, on hold for fifteen minutes from San Francisco, $9.57) I finally got through to someone on "the desk" who refused to identify herself by name. I identified myself and my reason for calling....and was told that she couldn't give out the information and was referrred to your web site. There, when I finally found it, was a transcript FOR SALE FOR 3 BUCKS....HAVE YOUR CREDIT CARD READY!

I'm going to post this on the F/A web site, so in the event some tragedy befalls one of our own in or around Chicago, we certainly will know where NOT TO GO for help and information.

I hope to God that they are all right. The news good be worst. We would of heard it already in the media.

First we had to deal with all those crazy
terrorist. The Hijackers, The snipers at the airports, The grenade throwing, missile lauching SOB's.

Now its Pedestrian Trash Class customers that need to vent via AirRage and Drive by shootings. images/icons/mad.gif images/icons/frown.gif

yeah my friend was on van, them and United crew. she got shot in butt/hip area. she was brand new and they were on 445 am van from Ambassador West. Cops that took report said gang fighting that whole week. also was told by friend that crew coordinator called them while they were at emergency room and asked how many flight atendants were not injured. (Answer 4) so then coordicator wants to know if they can leave ER and go work a flight. Along with the Captain who had been hit by stray bullet. HELLO!!
