Hi there everyone,
Im starting my cabin crew training with British Airways at the end of August, and didnt know if anyone had any advice for me.....
I already work on the ground for an airline so I know some of the basic airline bits, but obvioulsy none of the cabin services bits. So its still really kinda scary!!!!!
Any advice would be appreciated as I really am not 100% sure what to expect yet.
Thanks a lot!!!!!

Hi Tim
Welcome on Board
Well dont think you will have any problems. Think you know the basics already. ie dont be late, etc....
Worth while doing the Steps to Excellent work books, you need it for the course.
If you dont understand stuff ask. Especially during the cabin safety part.
During the 6 week course the social life drops to low to zero.
Have fun see you on the line.

Ive heard that its long hours and you end up with no social life, but hey I suppose there is always sacrifices when you are trying to get what you want...
Hope to see you online soon.

Hi Tim.
I have just finished training about 3 weeks ago, so here goes whilst its till fresh on my mind!!
To begin with, the first week i mean, the days are long but depends on how your class are with picking the diverse subjects are.About day 3 you start you aircraft visits and thats enough to keep you real excited for the next bit which after the second week, is really welcomed as the customer service does get a bit much!!
SEP(Safety and emergency procedures)is next and thats when the real studying comes into place if its new to you.To tell you the truth no one on my course lost there social life or had to adjust their home life, thats all a little bit dramatic and obviously said so you give 100% which is obviously paramount as its the important aspect of the job.Just understanding the topics is the most important thing and learning the different drills for specific scenarios might take an evening out of you agenda, but again no bid adjustment.Wet drills are fun slides are too and smoke and fire very interesting.
Then its back to Waterside fror more customer srevice training and generally on my course we thought they did drag it out a tad, but that was just our opinion.Trainers are lovely and are there to help you pass.
Let me know if you need anything more im only happy to let you know.....good luck.

images/icons/smile.gif Hi Tim and welcome to a company we are all proud to be part of.
How lovely to have somebody who cares about their performance join our training group.
The training is intensive and hard as my collegues suggested but it will also be fun as you will feel a sense of teamwork and comraderie which is a good insight to what our job curtails.
Good luck and see you on line.
