Just got back from a trip to hear that Meridian TV were covering the current situation on yesterdays Maidstone & Southampton versions of Meridian Tonight....not seen anything on todays shorter bulletins (I get the Southampton version), but there is a short report on www.meridiantv.com (http://www.meridiantv.com) which implies that most of the job losses will be at LGW.....anyone see the coverage??? Wonder what their source was....

I was chatting to a mate of mine who has just transferred to WW LGW, this very subject came up.
After much throught we both decided that most of WW LGW is to Africa with the US destinations fairly low frequency compared to others. Few American travel to that continent, so might not be to bad down there.
I live in the South Midlands, go all I tend to hear about is EasyJet and Ryanair.
I would give the TV station a ring and just ask where they got there info from.
Remember reporters, journos are giving their version and may "glamourise" the facts to help the story. BA is a high profile company so one movement and its reported.
Have a chat with your union they can fill you in with some details.
