I don't know about anyone else but I was a bit underwhelmed by the results of the "think the unthinkable" review.

It wasn't really anything that we couldn't have predicted ourselves was it?
We already knew they wanted to rationalise our fleets so the 737&777 deal at LGW was no big suprise.
The moving of longhaul routes up the road was no big stunner either.
The job cuts in management and support have been called for to bring us in line with other comparable carriers for ages, as regards the ratio between frontline and non-frontline worker numbers.
Regional hasn't been making money for a while so downsizing (the RJ100 move to MAN and BHX) could have been predicted.

I just hope that the company, when thinking about our working practices anyway, can come up with something a bit more inspiring.

The only thing that concerns me is the loss of potential earnings at Gatwick that the move of Lagos, Abuja, Mauritius and especially Buenos Aires will entail.

I know that in our contracts we weren't guaranteed anything more than our basic salaries but we all had an idea of what we would be earning and the routes we would be flying on more or less.
The situation at LGW is getting a bit desperate with 15 routes remaining, alot of them being US nightstops and so of low worth when it comes to salary time. Also we still have the Harare that is worth a pitance with was only offset by the higher money trips that are being lost.

Here's hoping that the Trade Unions can work something out that will benefit us and help to bring the company back to some semblance of profitability again.

Dont forget that we are getting some carribean routes and most of these generate good allowances, I can only talk for myself, but having transfered back to LGW 6 years ago, I only went to EZE 4 times and never saw MRU !

We will be fine, we wont make the money as at LHR but we will be brown and less tired, and Im sure there will be more transfers up to the Mothership.
