This will be my last post on this board as it is slowly becoming nothing more than a board for knocking BA and our employees, taking delight in the fact that 13 000 people will lose their jobs.
The low fare airlines fill an important role in the future of european aviation and thanks to them they are stimulating a demand for low fares.
The rest of the crewstart site is excellent and I will use it often, but this section should be renamed " have a GO at British Airways "
Safe flying everyone

Dave,
I think that all users of a Forum are responsible for what it is. If you are not happy with the direction, why don't you start different subjects? I don't think it's fair to go "I'm not gonna play with you any more!". A mature adult shohld be able to act and give a shape to the ideas he has in mind.

I asked Paul if he would start a Low-Cost Forum in one of my postings. Hopefully it may start soon.
What has wounded BA crews up is the constant negative posting by some people regarding the problems which the airline has found itself. The news reported on this website is second hand from either newspapers or the web. I have told the person many times that BA itself keeps us informed, and much is press speculation.
Fly777 has tried many different aproaches to the comments, but this has found themselves being named in the postings, whether a joke or not it gets very tiring.
BA is a combination of airlines T&C and pay, which can differ from base to base. LGW is being hit fairly hard with EuroGatwick or EuroFleet Gatwick now called loosing a number of routes. WW LGW are having routes moved up to LHR, so they are being left with secondary US cities and the odd African route, neither pay particularly well in allowances. BHX and MAN are being moved to CityFlier type operations.
With all this do you blame some of the crew to get fed up with the constant knocking of the company they work for?
Believe me and others who work for BA we have tried to guide/inform the person correct information. The person even wished Ryan Air "Good Luck against BA". When ask why the answer was Low costs stick together. A couple of days later Ryan Air announces new routes some which compete with GO. Egg on face or what?
The person involved is like the GRIM REAPER!

I agree guys, this isn't meant to be an attack BA forum.
Maybe I am a little responsible in part for starting what I felt was a good topic for discussion - the future of european airlines.
Unfortunatly, it kind of got hijacked part way through.
I have looked at the recent posts for the moderator of this forum - Long Ranger, and it seems the last one was 10-27-2001, indeed there are only 4 posts in total.
Whilst you may indeed still be an active reader Long Ranger, it seems you don't do much moderating, which is a shame as it seems that ill feeling and annoyance is starting. That surely isn't what the forum is about, and certainly isn't in the spirit of the rest of the site.
So, could I respectfully suggest that you allow Paul (Mr Crewstart) to transfer moderation rights to someone else? Whilst I am more often than not solely in The Bar, I would be happy to try to keep things on an even keel. Maybe there are more worthy posters than me.
I am all for inspired debate, and feel there are good points to be made on all sides, but things need to be kept in check with regard to the level of attacking BA that is going on.
Considering that 6 months ago one could go weeks without seeing a post in the BA forum, there seems to have been an explosion in negativity.
So guys, over to you, what do you think?

Just as an aside, maybe the forum should be renamed to account for the alliance, allowing, (purely as an example) the Qantas folks to feel part of the site too.

euroboy,
when I read your post I thought "what is the moderator doing???", but then I read that jetstar had already answered the question. I am sure a little bit of moderating ( I think there can be more than one moderator in a forum)could solve the problem.
