The new swiss national carrier wants to join Oneworld.Apparently all members would welcome swiss, but BA does not want us to join. What is BA afraid of?We have 26 Longhaul aircraft compared to BA s how many hundred? Why can only one member block a new member. Is this alliance not a sort of democracy?Or is BA afraid because AA could focus on swiss because we have an Open Sky Agreement? What do you think? Are we welcomed or not?

Democracy in the business world? Now there's an oxymoron! BA is the big daddy in oneworld and what it says goes. I think the main reason they are opposed to it is because they are still hoping on a merger with KLM. And yes perhaps they feel a little threatened by AA's courtship with LX. They are still smarting over the rejection of the transatlantic tie-up. Lastly i think if SWISS proves itself first they will probably agree. oneworld is pretty fragile at the moment without an unknown quantity entering the equation. Having said ALL that I'd love LX to join as I live in Switzerland! Vive des billets oneworld!!
Yes, I would like to see SWISS join OneWorld!
