Hello all UA Colleagues.

I'm sure you have all heard abour Robert Milton's recent announcement. It seems quite unfair that after everything we at AC have given, we are being "rewarded" with layoffs, while ex-Canadian crews who were supposed to be on the unemployment line before AC came to the rescue are protected and won't be affected by ANY layoffs. Something here does not seem right.

We are proud to wear green, and we have to stand united to protect all of our flight attendants, both junior and senior. It is not fair that we will be affected by layoffs of 1800 flight attendants within the next year, while ex-Canadian employees are protected with their jobs until 2004!

We are making every effort to fight and stand for our rights. Any support from our colleagues industry wide would be appreciated. Kindly e-mail me at tuviab@hotmail.com to be added to my e-mail list pertaining to matters surrounding this latest news. (Please state that you are UA crew.)

We welcome your support ... acquisitions can affect any airline, and noone should suffer as the AC crews are suffering now!

this sounds like an echo from our own unsavory experience with usair. United had promised usair f/as no layoffs and left us ual f/as twisting in the wind.
thank goodness that deal is d.o.a. (for now).
