Purser Bidding

Quick question,

If someone is a qualified wide body purser, do they have to bid teh purser position on all of their flights, and are they obligated to fly widebodies? Can someone that is purser qualified, fly on Shuttle for a month?

Delayed, Quick answer- it depends on your seniority on the Purser Qual list. You may bid what you like and fly what you can hold. If your base has more PQuals than lines and you are fairly far up the 'totem pole' you do not have to fly PQ lines. Each base is different. In LHR- PQ goes senior- no one below June 91 can hold purser lines with regularity. I have friends with 90 seniority in LAX forced into purser lines, it all depends. Bid it, if you can hold it great- being PQ does not necessarily 'lock' you into purser trips.
