i've always loved the Friendly Skies advertising campaign although i joined when UNITED RISING was being used. i first heard of the friendly skies when i was reading up on UNITED and watched our safety videos which say welcome to ... and thank you for flying the friendly skies of United.
do you like the friendly skies campaign?
i always say after the landing announcement "thanks for flying the friendly skies of United Airlines and our Star Alliance partners".
do other UNITED employees still fly the friendly skies. on a flight from ORD-LHR the capt. who had been flying for a while said things like "your friendly skies crew" and "the **,000 friendly skies employees thank you for choosing UNITED's friendly skies". it got a bit over the top? but i have noticed we say not just on behalf of the crew it's on behalf of all the employees of UNITED we appreciate you flying with us today. i think this is good.
also on landing have heard after seatbelt and bag announcment, "please rememeber to locate your nearest emergency exit and to leave all hand luggage behind you in case we need to evacuate on landing"
is this now standard procedure?
enjoy flying the friendly skies!

At Air Canada we make that announcement on all flights that are 4 hours and over. Just before landing we ask them to locate there emer. exits and to have a look at the safety features card once again. It's a transport Canada rule I think!

Glad to see other Airlines are doing the same....

i didn't know that that was standard procedure as i've only heard it once.
but still the question remains. do UNITED crews still fly the friendly skies? or are we rising still?

always, or most of the time use UAL on vacation to America, and by the looks of it, most crews fly the friendly skies!

The "Friendly Sky" campaign did (and still does) apply to the cabin crew... The many times I flew on you guys, I always got the nicest FAs. However, I don't think it ever applied to the ground crew. None of the stations I ever visited are as friendly as the cabin crew. I wish UAL would do something about their ground personnel.

We have loads of really friendly cabin crew, but we have some really awful ground staff, that are really rude!
Our FAs still fly the friendly skies though and thanx for commenting, but when you're next in LHR, ORD, IAD or MCO, I've spoken to some really great people there, but you have to look hard!
