Anyone heard about Jim Goodwin being invited to the board of directors at AA? Amazing how these guys keep going. Wonder if AA will be merging with USAir anytime soon.

Goodwin is a plague to the Airline industry that just won't go away. can you imagine he started as a Ramper (baggage handler) at UAL and ended up raping UAL of the money it needs. Instead of firing him, UAL exec's and Board give him a golden parachute. Now he is on his way to AA. I feel sorry for them. He created such "LOW MORALE" at UAL that it is shocking he was a ramper. Out of all people, HE should have FELT what we go through and could have been nicer. HOW PEOPLE FORGET THEIR PAST. I think ke should be renamed to .........BADLOOSER instead of GOODWIN because the words GOOD and WIN is only for the GOOD people and he is EVIL. Can't you see the tail and horns on that RED DEVIL. He makes me MAD. images/icons/mad.gif

On a better note, I would like to HIGHLIGHT our new CEO Jack Creighton. He is a man of the hour. I have met him on my flight. Exceptional man he is. He knows how to talk to employees with respect. He came to the galley and talked to us. He also made a PA announcement that he was on board and would like to personally THANK people for choosing UAL. I think it is important that CEO's have people skills and he DOES. Any thoughts?

In just the past few years I have witnessed United go through the summer of hell, its aftermath and then to top it off 9/11. Goodwin was a horrible person for United Airlines and took away the morale of the workforce.
Creighton on the otherhand is trying his hardest to turn United around. He has publically stated that anything that can be done that UA isnt doing to suggest it. His attitude is a step in the right direction. It is evident from his EYE-ON-UA speaches he makes weekly. He is doing a good job for the situation that the company is in. Since he took over, United has gone from loosing 10 million a day to loosing around 1.5 million. Thats a good thing in my mind. We need to keep on working, and try really hard to get our pax flying again. After all of that, our yields can increase.
