Virgin Blue said it has entered a code share agreement with United Airlines which will mean a single United Airlines code for passengers flying on both airlines.

In a statement, United Airlines Australia general manager Stephen Pearse said the agreement will soon come into effect and would provide greater choice for Australians travelling to the US. "This agreement means we are now able to offer customers access to all points in Australia with easy domestic connections and smoother transfers," he said.

Welcoming Virgin Blue with open arms. I am happy with this Codeshare because after Ansett, QF charged what they wanted for UAL connecting PAX. Now we have somewhat of a classy/sassy airline to feed our customers to. Met some Cabin Crew from Virgin Blue and I have to say you are awesome. Welcome to the Friendly Airline codeshare services in LAND DOWN UNDER. Would be nice to have you guys on our UAL flights as staff. Cheers images/icons/wink.gif
