Personally, I think Southwest is on the money... I have had insanely obese pax on too many flights lately. Fine if they have an empty seat next to them but if they take up half of another passangers seat then - they should pay for it -... after all, that unfortunate person sitting next to them is probably never going to buy another ticket on United..

Airlines make money based on the number of seats. You buy a ticket you're buying the right to "rent" that space for the duration of the flight. If your body takes up more than just that one area, then yes you should pay more money. Airlines should not have to make concessions for that sort of thing. Either pay for more seats or buy a First or Business class seat. I don't want to sound cold ro callous, but it's that simple.

Amen to that. When at United Express (CRJ) I had quite a few dealings with... PPP's... pleasantly plump pax. haha. They always say "Oh, can I just squeeze past you to go to the lav??" Im sorry honey, but you can barely "squeeze" into a seatbelt extender... and this aisle is way to small for the cart to barely fit down it, let alone the cart AND someone. LOL. Of course I never said that, I got out of their way. LOL.

I think that these guys are losing United Airlines money.
Whilst, I understand it must be a difficult situation for these pax ... bubba ... if u take up 2 seats, pay for 2 seats!
