Hello TS Crew,

I am happy to see that we have a message board and I am also happy to hear that YVR is calling back FA´s. Althought I am waiting for my position to open up again in YYZ.

I was wondering if there is any talk about the new Air line launched by Air Canada, called Tango. It seems like it is going to be quite the competition.

If you have heard anything please give me the scoop.

Thanks
TS Girl

Hello TS girl,

apparently you've been out of line for to long, because Air Canada Tango is already up and flying since November 1st, 2001. I think you're talking about the new discount carrier that Air Canada want to start in Western Canada, and it will be call zip. If you're talking about this one, they put an hold on it for now, nobody knows when it will be up and running. FYI Air Canada Tango is a product of air Canada, it is operated with Canadien airlines A320 and air Canada Crew members. zip will be a totaly different company, a sister company of Air canada with a different collective agreement and also different operations, and f/a will be base in Hamilton and the operations center in YYC. Tango is not a real threat for us as they are marketing a different crowd, they were looking into C3 market and now that C3 went under they are trying to give their business and frequent flyer and alternative for their vacations. Yes I agree that they are doing some route that Transat is doing, but their capacity is low, and we are stil at the end offering the best deal for vacationer.

Hope to see you up there

Tango's capacity is not so low anymore, it has sold out for christmas, and is starting to fly to more places in the east.
