Hi All,
My name is Chris and I live approximately 13miles North Of Belfast International Airport in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Recently the Toronto flights have once again started again from Person Int (CYYZ) on Friday mornings and Monday morning flights are due to start shortly. Can any of you tell me what aircraft are flying thses routes. not the registration but just the type of aircaft eg, A330 or A310. Ilooked up the departure baord for CYYZ on Thursday night to see that many other destinations left around the same time going to Newcastle and manchester etc.
So could any of you out there tell me? I listen to EGAA ATC on my airband radio and hear you guys flying in, so all you pliots out there of TS, next time your there spare a though fro little old Chrissy stuck 13miles North of you on the ground, I listen to you across the atlantic aswell as far as when you reach VHF on the Gander side.

Well, Its kinda compilcated. In some countries, listyening to ATC is illeagal but it is tolerated by the Goverment(why they still make it illegal i dont know). What I have is a scanner which allows me to pick up alll radio signals from police to micorwaves to Gander Hf to to the local taxi firms. If you just want one to listen to the ATC go for the Aiband radio rather than a scanner. Scanners arent illegal, the only illegal thing is what you listen to which depends on where you live. In Uk it is illegal to listen to the police, firebrigade, ATC, anything really apart from Amateur radio and offical radio stastions but the Govverment doesnt spend a lot of time or money on clamping donw on scanners(the people who scan the radio waves) It all depends on where you live what you can listen to, for example I think in Germany scanners are illegal and in Uk there are not and on mainland Uk guys can get away with listening to police and military where as here in Northern Ireland we dont due to the operations being very differant over here. Unless you want to take up scanning go for an Airband Radio, you'll be open to less interpeatation from officals, but they cant do anything if they have no proof you have been listening to illegal things. Theres too much to explain on here, but if you want to know more you can email me @ chrissyni@msn.com or chrissyni@aol.com . There are pleanty of sites online so check them out. It is fun listening to them, knowing whats happening at the aiport.
