Jetsgo 2-for-1 seat sale is Canadian airline first

Tickets good system-wide

MONTREAL, Aug. 12 /CNW/ - Jetsgo is offering travelers the unique opportunity to fly on a 2-for-1 basis for over three-and-a-half months, making it the first seat sale of its kind in the Canadian airline industry.

Tickets for this promotion will be on sale from Aug. 13-23 for travel from Sept. 3 to Dec. 18. There is no restriction on available tickets or routes.

"This is a seat sale with a real difference," says Michel Leblanc, president and general manager of Jetsgo. "There is no restriction on flights or cities for 15 weeks from the beginning of September to mid-December. The scale, timing and length of this offer is unprecedented in the Canadian industry."

The second person flies for free after purchase of the first ticket. Some examples of one-way fares and routes include: Montreal to Toronto, starting at $89; Toronto to Vancouver from $234; and Winnipeg to Montreal from $164. Standard taxes and surcharges apply. Bookings must be made through Jetsgo's Web site www.jetsgo.net (http://www.jetsgo.net) to take advantage of this offer.

"Fall seat sales are part of the airline business, but with this 2-for-1 sale we're offering previously unavailable discount fares to benefit travelers," say Leblanc. "Jetsgo has had an extremely successful launch since June 12 and we want to share our success with the people who have made it possible. This is an opportunity to take an affordable break during a time that you may not normally travel, as well as a great savings for our business customers."

Headquartered in Montreal with 225 employees, Jetsgo serves select domestic routes between Toronto, Montreal, Halifax, Winnipeg and Vancouver. Bookings can be made at www.jetsgo.net, (http://www.jetsgo.net,) phoning the Jetsgo call centre at 1-866-440-0441 or by contacting a travel agent.

From what they've published recently they made a profit in their first few months of operations, flying with an average load factor of 72.5%.

I imagine that this promotion (I must admit I haven't heard anything about it), is just that, a promotion to encourage clients to try out their service and not a cry for help.

So far, all I heard about jetsgo is positive. Of course they have a few delays, they only fly 3 planes now. But, from what I heard, they are doing a wonderful job. Cheers to jetsgo and wish you guys success!
