Is anyone else as worried about the potential opening of the YYC base this winter as me? Been looking at it from all angles. I know that on a business perspective that opening yyc could save Transat cash for the winter. I know that going is on a voluntary basis. In my opinion opening that base would have a negative effect on crew based out of YVR. It would take away from our flying through YYC and YEG, ultimately leading to longer layoffs. Longer than the usual inbetween seasons 1 month layoff. I know nothing can be done other than to just wait and see what happens. I`ve learned to never believe it until it happens. Anyone else have any input in this matter?

Hello Jason! Every year I hear the same rumors about temporary bases. This year, I heard about YYC, YQB and YHZ. But I will only believe it when I see a note in the crewrooms about it. I mean, as much as I like to gossip, I have learned that in this industry, you never know what is going to happen. Personnaly though, I would love to be based in YQB this winter, because, if you go to a temporary base, when it closes at the end of the winter, you get to choose your new home base. That way I could come back to YUL..... Just my thought. Hope to hear from you again on this site Jason and welcome!!
