That is the latest rumor in the galleys. 150 of us laidoff as of oct. 1st. Mostly in YYZ, haven't heard anything from YVR and YMX so far... But with the bumping people who knows what is going to happen. At this time, they are planning to recall for dec 15th most of the workforce. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
I am taking a leave as of sept 1st, tired to commute, so I needed a break. I will be working in an office untill I miss flying too much, unless I have no choice to come back to work. I know it won't be long untill I am up in the air again!!!
What is the latest gossips you heard???

I just called union rep from yyz and told me 130 people lay off for oct 1st.recall for january hopefully.... i will miss that job again... images/icons/frown.gif

i only hope that this time will be shorter than last year and did not exceed 9 months of waiting...
If they open seasonal bases, i dont mind moving there for a while and meeting people from the other bases :)Actually i never flew with any YVR crew images/icons/smile.gif
But with my seniority i really doubt that i may be able to go to another base.
To answer your question alitalia : like any airline fall and spring are change in between summer and winter schedule so this is normal to have seasonal lay offs because they need less people to work the planes.

I am now based in YYZ, but I am on a leave for now. See, I needed a break. I am still in love with my job, but the commuting...........
