planning my vacation for 2002 and just a few questions about Delta (last time i flew DL was when the Atlanta Olympics)... you never get honest answers at the travel agents ...
1. do Delta 767s and 777s have seat-back TVS?
2. is Atlanta interesting to have a stop over at?
3. what is Atlanta and JFK airports like?
4. how about food and onboard service
and most importantly
5. how easy to get an upgrade or what is BusinessElite like? (SkyMiles member)
thanx

Hi Easy737, I can't answer all of your questions, but you don't seem to be getting much help otherwise.
1. Can't comment on coach in the 777. 76's don't.
2. Atlanta can be an interesting town if you have time to get uptown. There's an area called Buckhead a few miles north of downtown that's got a huge area of clubs, bars and restaurants. I think you can take the MARTA (train) all the way up there from the airport, but I wouldn't swear to that.
3. ATL is simple to get around in, but can be time consuming because you have to take a train between each concourse. All of DAL's ops in JFK are in fairly close quarters. You can walk between all the gates.
4. Food has taken a big hit since 9/11, but service is very good, as always. Unfortunately, you can't make chicken salad out of chicken s***.
5. Agents are good about upgrading DAL employees, however the planes are so full right now that non-revving at all is very iffy. The last few times I have flown, I was lucky to get a seat at all.
Hope you have a nice vacation.

Easy737, The 777 delta fleet has seat back TV. The 767 has individual entertainment in f/c and b/c. The food has been pretty good lately, the service on board has always been quite good.
As far as upgrade availability, you can always check the seat availability by rating a first class flight, at which point you can click on seat selection to see how many seats are still unsold. This will let you check a number of flights and may influence your selection.
Have a great vacation images/icons/cool.gif

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana ">Actually, Delta is cutting the LGW-BOS flight after June 1 in favor of a 4th daily LGW-ATL flight on weekends. DL will operate LGW-ATL (3x weekdays, 4x Fri/Sat/Sun) and LGW-CVG (daily). The Atlanta flights will be operated by a mix of 777, M11 and 763, while the CVG flight will be a M11.

As for NYC, you will have to connect in CVG or BOS. No direct flight plan for summer season.
