Our company is seriously considering charging customers in economy for their alcoholic beverages on our transatlantic flights. They say that we are one of the only carriers that still gives complimentary alcohol to coach passengers on long haul international flights. They have already done a few "test" flights, of course to London rather than Paris or Rome where there would almost certainly be an outcry from the customers.

Can you please list your airline's policy for coach alcohol on overseas flights? Somehow I suspect our managers are "misinformed." Thanks for your help.

They are! We don't charge for alcohol in Y. Not even for miniatures (cognac, grand marnier, etc), unlike most companies.

As Captain Escargot replied, we (Air France) don't charge for alcohol in Y. Even Champagne is free of charge.
