What is the difference between Alitalia and Alitalia Team? I noticed that, on a variety of aircraft, from 747s to Airbus, there is a red sticker next to the Alitalia name, which says "TEAM". What is the significance?

hi muscleboy,
this is a very long story....i try to make it short, there would be a lot to say!!!! in 1996, the managment trying to reduce our wages and making us flying more, founded alitalia team, with the purpose to make alitalia become a hhc a highly competitive carrier. with the yeras all flying activity was passed from alitalia into alitalia team, which became the official italian airline, all aircraft became alitalia team besides the 747 who flew with crews who had the old alitalia contract.last year we got riunited again, all in alitalia team, with a new contract for fa, that is better then the one from alitalia team but of course worse than the one from alitalia. From AUgust 1 2002, 2 days ago alitalia team doesn't exist anymore, the official name for our airline is back ALITALIA, in fact we are getting all the new badges and new id numbers........but of course the contract is not the one it used to be.....
ciao

Fiesta,
Are the team stickers going to be removed? Or will they stay on the a/c? At first I didn't like them but grew to like them....
But I wish you guys still had the "Alitalia" written in gold right behind every door like on the 747's in the 90's!
"Alitalia. Dedicata a me!"

Hey Fiesta 31...
Thanks for the response.
It sounds alot like what the US carriers tried to achieve in the 80's with the B-scale...essentially creating an airline within an airline...lower wages for new-hires was the major impetus for this system...to grow the airline at lower cost than previously possible. The only difference was that we, as B-scalers, had to work side-by-side with those on the A-scale, people who, in some cases, were making 3 times as much money as we were. Not fun, since we could barely afford to put food on the table and a roof over our heads.
Eventually, those of us on the B-scale became the majority, flexed our collective muscle, and we put an end to this draconian arrangement.
I am sorry to hear that your current contract does not live up to the standards of the original Alitalia contract, but, as a reunited work force, my hopes are that you should be able to collectively regain what was taken away from you. All the best.
