Le projet du troisième aéroport international à Chaulnes est définitivement enterré. Mais, à la demande du ministre de Transports, Gilles de Robien, hostile à cette implantation, ce sont maintenant les députés qui se saisissent du dossier. Une mission d'information parlementaire sur " l'avenir du transport aérien français et de la politique aéroportuaire " va en effet être mise en place par la commission de la production et des échanges de l'Assemblée nationale. Il ne s'agit pas de se prononcer sur la localisation de l'aéroport, comme l'avait fait le précèdent gouvernement, mais de s'interroger sur l'intérêt même d'un tel projet.
