The FAA is currently considering a new rating currently known as "Sport Pilot".
Many believe only a drivers license (not a medical certificate)will be required. What about the other U.S. regulations pertaining to ALL pilots?

USA/FAA Federal Regulation 61.53 and specific conditions listed elsewhere in the FAR's preclude all certificated pilots from flying with certain medical deficiencies.

The "soon to be released" Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM)will contain the full proposed technical language for the new pilot certificate, but what do you think?

No way - medicals as prescribed at present would be my vote.

Actually I would go further & insist that all drivers should have the same. That would keep a few of the really dangerous ones of the road and keep the doctors working in the direction of preventive medcine - which must be cheaper and better than fixing up the wrecks. graemlins/windsock_smilie.gif
