This is not an advertisement...just sharing a recent discovery in hopes that others may benefit. Jobst is a US company that makes therapeutic support hosiery that reportedly is recommended by pilots and flight attendants. The company targets "economy class syndrome"-prone passengers.

You can buy Jobst socks, kneehighs and pantyhose in pharmacies, medical supply stores and some socks specialty shops. If you're lucky, your doctor will give you an Rx so insurance will cover the cost.

Has anybody tried this product line? Is it really worth the money?

For more info and to find a retail outlet near you in the US or Canada, go to www.jobst-usa.com. (http://www.jobst-usa.com.)

I always wear "gold-toe" support socks for men when I fly. They aren't very glam but I think they help. They are available in most mens departments of large department stores in the US. I will check out the socks from this company and see how they compare in cost and comfort.

While these may help, a walk to the bathroom during a lengthy flight is better.

Check with your company health plan.

We are actually covered for support hose so long as we have a note from a physician. We do have to pay upfront, but I believe we're 100% reimbursed after we send in the claim.

The same goes for our orthotics insoles.
