US AIRWAYS intends to have all their MD80s and F100s parked in Mojave,California at the end of the first quarter. US AIRWAYS has already parked all their DC9s and 737-200s.
I know that we are suppose to get more A321s. Of course, after 9/11 occurred, the airline has tried to defer deliveries of the new airbus. This includes A330s and A321.

The F100's may not be parked for too long. AA will probably snap them up, unfortunately.

They wanted these ships, and would have had them if the proposed UA/US merger had gone through.

AA own all of the tooling and manufacturing rights to the ships, purchased when Fokker went under several years back.

They are unloading the ex-TW 717s, which
are IMO better aircraft, because the F100's fit better with the current fleet structure.

The plan, as I recall, was for the A321's to take over for the 757's on the U.S. transcontinental routes, which it has in large part done. Many of our 757's are now flying from the Northeast to Florida and some Caribbean flying. Our 767's are still largely used on transatlantic although we have been using them to Florida/San Juan/LAX as well. It is appears unlikely that we will exercise any more of our A330 options. The F100's and MD80's are on their way out as quickcallqueen stated before, and our 737-200 fleet (former Metrojet) is already parked. I'm not sure what the future holds for our 737-300/400 fleet. They are moving the 737 flying out of Boston effective June 1st. It will be an all airbus base. We have many of the type so I reckon they'll be around for a long time. Does anyone else hear different?

It makes sense that the 767s and 757s are to be used for the florida flights; it makes sense . A lot of those florida flights oversell, a good chunk of business for US. I also think it makes sense that we use airbus for transcon flights since they have the range and capacity.
I think that we already have buyers for our MD80s and DC9s. I am not sure about our 737-200s; who is going to buy those.

AA will not be buying the Fokker 100's from US!! AA is going to be an all Boeing fleet and the Fokker is one of the planes to be out the door. The only planes that AA will have in the future is...777, 767-200,300er, 757 and 737-800. I can't wait until those Stupid 80's, Fuc**r 100's and Scarebus A300's are out the door!! My saying is, "If isn't Boeing it isn't going!!"http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/aircraft2/777200a.gif

They should have kept the 717's. They can't get rid of the F100's fast enough for me.

To small of a plane for the future of AA! Besides to costly to train 24,000 flight attendants on it. The remaining order of the 717 was picked up by AirTran. Besides the 717 is just a new version of the DC-9! Which in turn is a small version of the MD80!

I had heard a rumour that you had a buyer for the Fokker 100s, a no-frills airline.
Oh well ... probs just another rumour.

That is nice to hear that USAirways could have a buyer on the F100s. I know that many of the MD80s,DC9s, and 737-200s have been bought already.

quickcallqueen, where do buyers buy the aircraft though?
Is it from US Airways or Mojave?
And how do you contact them, say, if I wanted to launch an airline?

When the airlines park these planes for good, charters and airlines of third world countries can buy these planes.
There are many firms at the airport in Mojave, CA that paint and do maintenance on the airrplanes.
