Hey...
The PSA girls now work for USAirways... they have quite a bit of seniority now, but they are still FABULOUS.
Some of the uniforms they wore in the 60's were so cutting-edge... go-go boots & miniskirts.
When USAirways shut down its SAN, LAX and SFO bases in early 1990s, a lot of the PSA people were forced to commute to bases on the East Coast. We still have a lot of former PSA flight attendants and pilots who commute to the West Coast cities.
They are the easiest people to fly with. They are so funny and have such a no-stress attitude.
JMC, check out this book... "Airline: Identity, Design & Culture" by Keith Lovegrove.... has a lot of info about the history of the airline industry... along with some great pictures of the uniforms worn by flight attendants in the 60's and 70's.

I have to agree with skyguy. I have flown trips with Flights Attendants who were PSA now US AIRWAYS, and they are some of the nicest people to work with. They are a lot of fun. Maybe, I am biased, since I am a California Native now living in PHL. I relocated here after I got hired by US AIRWAYS.
Many of the pilots and flight attendants who were PSA commute to and from here since those west coast domicles have already been closed.

I checked out some of those websites, out of interest after reading an article about a PSA flight called the Midnight flyer.
PSA looked a really cool airline, and a really nice one to work for.
If anyone worked the midnight flyer or even for PSA, I also would love to hear your experiences.
Thank you for Flying the Friendly Skies

I used to occassionally commute home from LAX to SFO on the 'Midnight Flyer'. It had quite a reputation!
These days we're used to obnoxious passengers with dirty clothes and bare feet, but back in the days when those flights operated, most people still showed-up at airports well behaved and well dressed. The 'Midnight Flyer' was the exception to the rule.
Observing your fellow passengers on those flights was always amusing; particularly on Friday and Saturday nights; lots of burned-out hippies, revellers who'd just stumbled onto the plane from parties, and assorted late night denizens who were just barely able to scrape up the cash for their fares. The clientele were a far cry from the buttoned-down executives PSA normally carried!

Thanx for the links quickcallqueen, I'm really interested in PSA, and these sites are really cool!
Hope everything goes well over at US AIRWAYS, I'd hate to see another major, and excellent airline go.
