Apparently the talk in the crew room was that USAirways is selling its Transatlantic routes.

Any truth to this rumour?

To who?
US doesn't have any transatlantic route authorities that are hard to acquire. If any airline wanted to open service to any current European destination served by US, all they would have to do is apply and start service.

Its the US feed that counts so without that why bother.
FWIW if NW were to buy US's transatlantic routes, they'd be stymied by lack of name brand recognition in Europe, and by their agreement with KLM.
CO probably has most of those destinations as well.
PHL could probably support a LON & AMS flight without other feed, CLT & PIT LON only, for any other carrier

This particular question was posed to Dave Siegel today at the PHL road show and the answer was a resounding NO. We have no plans to sell ANYTHING. We are, of course, in talks with several different airlines regarding an international and domestic alliance.
