I just read a press release on US AIRWAYS (http://www.usairways.com) website. It stated that Potomac Air will be reactivated. The airline will be called MidAtlantic Airways. This will be a wholly owned subsidiary of US AIRWAYS. Since US AIRWAYS will be getting more of these regional jets, they will get the new regional jets. Possibly by October, they will be operational. Of course, they have their top management in place.Soon recruitment will start for hiring of employees. I know that our CEO promised that this could provide interim employment to our fellow employees who are still furloughed. We will see if he keeps his word, time will tell.
I have the press release below if you are interested.

The new airline will be headquartered in PIT. Siegal stated that "many jobs as possible " can be available for furloughed mainline employees.

With the talks between the company and AFA, there has been discussion of giving furloughed mainline flight attendants preferential handling in regards to getting jobs with flights operated by MidAtlantic. There has also been talk of a "flow through" agreement to allow these flight attendants to return to mainline as the jobs become available once again.
In all due respect to our fellow pilots and flight attendants with the express carriers. What I see is that since the flights got eliminated from mainline, the work has been 'farmed out' to the express carriers. Don't get me wrong, I am not knocking on those at express;after all everyone has got to make a living. Futhermore, I have a lot of friends at Mesa and Chaquatua Airlines, and we respect each other. We are just pawns in a corporate shell game. One of my best friends is a flight attendant with Mesa, we go way back over the years. At the end of the day , we are all flight attendants.

I am glad to see that this is still on the negotiating table.
The company and AFA have discussed this and it is still on the table.
It is only fair to those flight attendants involuntarily furloughed from US Airways.
"Furloughed US Airways flight attendants will be provided job opportunities at MidAtlantic Airways in seniority order"
