A memo came out yesterday stating that effective August 1st we will no longer have to pay for our term pass for flying in coach. It also states that we will recieve 4 free upgrades per year. Does anyone know if we will recieve a partial refund of our term pass we paid earlier this year since the policy starts August 1st? Also, are the free upgrades allowed to be used on transatlantic flight?

I don't think that we can get refunds on FC upgrade coupons already purchased, but I think that they can be used.
We can fly coach for free at no further cost. We will get four FC upgrade coupons a year.
I know that there is more information with ID 20s, where we can earn dividend miles points and get a discount on purchasing tickets, but with the same restrictions as our customers.
I will be back to this topic on this board when I get more information.

I am back with more information.

Free Term Pass Travel
There will be no further payroll deductions for those actively employed by the company.
Reduced rates for tickets purchased by US AIRWAYS employees.Employees will be eligible to buy ID 20 tickets; there will be a 20% discount based on advance purchase requirements. These reduced rate tickets are not stand-by. You will travel as a revenue passenger and board with the same priority as all our ticketed passengers. You will earn Dividend Miles for your travel.
You can call US AIRWAYS reservations to book these fares. Employees can purchase tickets on behalf of family members.
In addition, the same rules apply to our customers also apply to our employee reduced fare tickets. This includes minimum stays, advance purchase and other restrictions.
First Class
Refunds for FC upgrade coupons already purchased are not available because of the financial condition of our company and administrative complications. However, four free FC upgrades will be mailed to each employee, and they must be used by 12/31/03.
Employees will be able to pay by credit card or debit card beginning August 1.

I am really looking forward to this new addition to our term pass. At least I know that I can travel with more of a peace of mind when I travel on my own time because the ticket that I purchased is already bought and paid for . Therefoe, I will be handled with the same priority as our customers, I definitely rejoice in that. I am glad I will be able to earn Dividend Miles. I have all this to look forward to when I go back to work next month after being involuntarily furloughed for 7 months.

Thanks so much for your kind words. Yes indeed, I am glad to be coming back to work. Seven months is a long time to be out of work. Thank god for the unemployment extension, it bought me a little more time for this day to come. Fifty of us were lucky to be recalled.
The fifty of us recalled are going to LGA. None of us are going to relocate, all of us are going to commute it. I will still live in PHL, and I will commute to LGA.
I am really happy about the new additions to our travel benefit. Like I say I can commute and travel with more of a peace of mind since the ticket is already bought and paid for, and will have the same boarding priority as our customers.
