I just read the press releases on another message board that both US Airways and United will have a marketing alliance. So, it looks like United will be our code share partner.
This is a good thing, it gives our customers more choice when making their travel arrangements. This will enable our customers to fly to more destinations that US Airways does not currently serve.
United flys to many places and that is great. images/icons/smile.gif

from Ananova - United Airlines, US Airways in code-share alliance
United Airlines Inc said it has signed an agreement with US Airways which will allow both carriers to market services on each other's networks.
It said this code-share alliance will bring significant revenue benefits to both carriers.
"The agreement allows both carriers to complement their route networks in a way that will attract new traffic and boost revenue for both airlines," said Jack Creighton, United's chairman and chief executive officer.
"We believe today's agreement is a good strategic fit for both carriers and critical to our recovery efforts," he said.
As part of the agreement, customers will be able to earn and redeem miles in each carrier's frequent-flyer programs. They also will benefit from a more streamlined process for ticket reservation, check-in, and baggage transfers.
The agreement was signed on July 24 and has been approved by the Master Executive Councils of each airline's pilots' union.

Hey Agent! Thanks for the kind words. I think everyone here at US is hoping this agreement is beneficial for both companies. Since we are not merging, hopefully there won't be the seniority animosity that was floating around last year from both sides. I still see some UA stews (among others) that won't say "hi" to me in the airport. Having worked over there on the ground for 3 years, I realize this may have nothing to do with my US Airways uniform, though. images/icons/tongue.gif
The only thing we are a little concerned about in Philly International is that US may get rid of our wide-bodies and turn the transatlantic routes over to UA, BMI, and/or LH. That would suck for us but I reckon it's more important that we survive than for me to fly where I want.
Maybe now, while we still have our international routes, the company will shelf plans to charge coach customers on those flight for alcohol. That would not be very consistent with UA policies, nor the rest of the Star Alliance (which I guess we'll be joining in a year or two if we are still around.)
Let's hope the agreement makes us both stronger and able to survive through this rough period in our industry. Good luck to my old friends at UA and all of my colleagues at US! images/icons/wink.gif
