Ladies and gentlemen, I just want you to beware of the tricky language used to write this T/A. I want you to analyze every single word and sentence. Then I want you to think of how else it could be interpreted.
For example (1), MEC says that if you are a furloughed flight attendant with 3 years seniority and you go over to MidAtlantic until your recall (let's say 2 years), you will "keep" your seniority for pay and longevity purposes.
What this REALLY says is that you "keep" the exact same seniority you had when you were furloughed. How CLEVER!!!
(2) Remember that the 1113 letter only "protects" each group until December 31, 2002. And does it really protect us? My bet would be that the judge would just TELL us what he's doing without the company asking.
(3) RETROACTIVE PAYCUTS???? WHATEVER! That's illegal! The only way to get around it legally is for the company and labor groups to mutually agree upon it. So before you click the "Sign me up" button, realise that you're giving the company the authority to withdraw from your checking account when you DON'T HAVE TO do this!!
Think about all this before making that final decision.
