Ok, this is an attempt to plan and schedule the first meeting of everyone who is interested!
my proposal: New York City, probably the easiest Thing for everyone to request and to get, right???
I would say for April, that should be enough Time for all of us to plan in advance.
Input is welcome at any time. as this is a serious attempt, i would love to see as many people as possible!

Let's decide on dates for this first. I am actually a bit more flexible than I once believed. I can either make it the weekend I posted earlier, or the next weekend. I can do midweek, 4/22 - 4/26 as well.

as everyone seems to leave this up to me again, i would propose somewhere in the mid of the month, or in the end! i am off the last week in april due to vacation, but could also request a flight there during the month. i have no schedule with me at the moment, and since my computer is still broke, i am replying again from a cybernet cafe.
if i go there for work, i will stay in the holiday inn on broadway, if not, i am sure there will be a not too pricy alternative somewhere.

Would it be an idea if we pick different cities on that same date.
Some are stuck with different routes or destinations.
It would sound kinda cool if there were crewstart meetings (or AirlinCrew.net meetings) at let's say Paris, London, Amsterdam, New York, Detroit, Los Angeles and Sydney at the same time.
Well, maybe that would be a bit much. Just a thought.

I can get to New York easily. The Milford Plaza in midtown is pretty central and they have KLM/USAirways/KoreanAir/Asiana crews staying there so we could probably get a decent rate. They have been redecorating, too. I am willing to call them when y'all decide on a date. Also, if anyone coming would be interested in trading an extra set of their wings for US Airways wings, let me know ahead of time and I will make sure to bring extras. This sounds like alot of fun!

Well, AMS would be very convenient for me of course.
A little insight into my life:
Let's see. the in-laws don't show till May I just heard.
My wedding anniversary is April 22 though.
If I go partying with a bunch of people on that day she's going to be a little ticked.
I've requested that off, so I'll probably be working just before and after that.
So, April 16, 17, 18 or earlier in the month or 27, 28 and onwards should be possible. Later into May would be tough.
If I want to be definite I need to request it off 6 weeks in advance.

If I am off that day I could pick some people up at the airport and take 'em to where we're going. Public transport is available too. And to Ifly: Are you just gonna request a work trip or would there be a crew-hotel with major discount available to you or should we try to find you something ? I could try to talk my wife into letting some folks stay at our house. We live 30 minutes drive to the north, though. Guess I'd have to stay relatively sober.

It's gonna take a little planning.
Like exbekl.. (we need to work on that name !) said; why doesn't everybody who's interested in AMS first write down the dates they can and can not.

NYC is a good place, i mean every airline has several flights a day to JFK. By the way where are your crew-hotels? Swissair is in the Sheraton in Manhattan, I hope that we will be named "Swiss" and not in the a youth-hostel...

To bad, but New York doesn't work for me in April. This summer schedule Northwest will take over our daily afternoon flights to both JFK and EWR!!! There are only four or five evening flights left for us at KLM. The flight that leaves on Saturday evening arrives at JFK around 9PM. Too late for dinner! It will also be very hard for me to get this 5 day trip....a lot of flight attendants are requesting this popular trip!!!

I would prefer AMS. Hopefully I will be able to get a day off on the 27th of April.

Three weeks ago I had a layover in New York, our crew stays in The Milford Plaza. I had to get some info for a friend of mine who is going to New York in April. The lady at the reservation department told me that they do give airline discount ! A double room would be $98 plus tax. Please double check!

I called the Milford this morning and they told me $98, as well for our airline discount. This isn't to bad of a price for Manhattan. Great location 1 block away from Times Square. Walking distance to the theater and resturants.

Ok, Folks, this is what I hope on getting done!

I did not get JFK or EWR for April, since it has been withdrawn from my Area. I will be in Chicago on the 1st and 2nd, trying to change my 4-Day-European-Tour on 18th till 21st into a JFK or EWR, if I find someone willing!
Besides this, I think the Weekend of the 26th to the 28th sounds good to me! Hope, my Finances work out till then! But I would say, that these Dates should be regarded by Everyone as the Schedule!

So, the latest Update for everyone attending the Meeting:

As I will be hosted by Studley, I guess we will arrive together.

The Meeting has been set for 6:00PM in the Rainbow Room up on the 36th Floor in Rockefeller Plaza on Friday, the 26th.

I was thinking of making a Reservation there, but then decided against it. As it is quite an expensive Restaurant, I thought we might just have a Drink there, and then hop on somewhere else for Dinner. But I think, we should decide on this spontaneously together!

As on the Question, what to wear, I believe that the Idea of the Wings is great! Everyone has to wear her/his Wings viewable.

The first One up there should reserve a Spot at the Bar, I will try to arrive on Time, but since my Flight comes in at 3:25PM, and I have to work late the Day before, please forgive, if I come slightly en Retard.

If even the Bar should be full, stay at the Entry to make sure to catch everyone.

This will probably be the last Reply from my Side before the Meeting, so, if there are any important Changes, Questions, etc, etc, send me a Shortmessage soon enough!

Guys, she is just as sweet as she is on here. And she really does look exactly like Traylor Howard (the girl from the ABC sitcom "Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place").

We had a very nice dinner and conversation in Times Square.

Temps are cool in NYC right now, with rain anticipated this weekend.

Where were ya, Frecuent flyer? Did the CO flights fil up? Maybe the signals got crossed. Only Tamme, myself, and a friend of mine from BOS were at the Rainbow Room, in the Rainbow Grill area, which was the bar. We were there from 19:30 ET until 22:00 or 23:00, so there would have been plenty of time to find us.

We also left word at the front counter, and they would have brought you to where we were. I even gave them my cell phone number.

No sweat, 'cause we met several other folks at the bar and carried on great conversations with a spectacular view of the Empire State Building, all lit up in Red, White, and Blue. images/icons/smile.gif

All of you missed a extremely fun time! images/icons/tongue.gif Tamme is even more fun in person than he is on the board! images/icons/grin.gif

He told me to tell those who were supposed to be there, "Shame on you for not coming like you said you would!" I'm sure when he gets back, he will post something.

After leaving "30 Rock", we ended up going through several bars and clubs in the Flat Iron District and Union Square, before settling in for a night of wild (and I mean WILD), raucous (and I mean RAUCOUS) reggae dancing at a place called Nells. We finished the party there.

Hey everyone! I met Koolkat and her AC crew last night! She's a real hottie, with a fantastic bod. All her curves are in the right places. I know because I checked. images/icons/wink.gif

We partied with the Port Authority Police half of the night. The bar we were in was serving free beer, so that kind of helped, too. images/icons/smile.gif

Well, I guess, Studley already said everything that I can think of.
I do have to say though, that I am a little disappointed in all of you, who said who would attend this Meeting! Just imagine, I came all the Way from Germany to see you Guys, if Studley would not have been there, I would have been all by Myself! Not a nice Thought!
On the other Hand, you Guys really missed out on something! We had a kill Time, and I will defenitely try to make it to the SFO Meeting.
Everything starts out small, I hope that this Idea will establish over the Years, since I think it has been a Sucess in JFK!
So, next Time, I expect everyone there, who gave a concrete Yes, if not, get lost!
