Hi,
If you and your friends are interested in volunteering, we're still signing up people! If you haven't checked it out yet, we have basic info on our website about volunteering (and schedules, how to get there, etc):

We are collecting names now and organizing people into groups. We will be notifying everyone in the next fews where exactly they will be located along the route.
As for the best place to view -- that would be on the golden gate bridge or on a boat in the water! Most places on Crissy Field should be good too because it's so open.
