Lufthansa has seen passenger numbers out of Dubai jump by 35 per cent in the first half of the year, and revenues by 27 per cent. General manager Uwe Wriedt told Gulf News that growth was attributed partly to not dropping flights after September 11. He said load factors were up from 73 to 85 per cent, and noted that there were plans to introduce a 747 on the Dubai route depending on demand. Lufthansa offers excellent onward connections from Frankfurt, he added.

Well well, that wouldn't be the first Middle Eastern destination LH does with B 747. Jeddah has been operated with the Jumbo for months.

True, that is what I heard. But the JED Flights are going back on the 340 beginning winter schedule. Too bad.

KLM is also switching.
From 767 to MD-11 in their case.
Guess Dubai is one of those markets that still do well.
