Hi lauramalhu,
It's up to you to learn russian, it just depends what you wanna do with russian language. If you're a pilot or wannabe, it wont help you except in Russia.

Well regarding russian language, I dont really think that will be the best choice.
I guess you already have spanish and english, then german, italian, or japanese would be a must for a flight attendant carreer, but maybe you should post in the other forum, flight attendants ones. There you may have better advice as a lot aof f/a check it.

However in Customer service it will be very helpful. I know very lile because I've never had real oppurtunity to practice it. However
it did help me greatly dealing with Pax in LIT and BNA.

Again, no.
On terms of sheer numbers of population though, Chinese wouldn't be a bad bet I guess.
However, I feel with the recent agreement to expand the EU, if one was to learn a 'Germanic' Eastern European language, you can't go far wrong. For example, Polish, or Czech.
These countries will become tremendously successful once they join the EU fully, and if you learn one language of the Germanic family, it is easier, though still not simple, to learn another of the family.
Hope it helps!

German is far from Czech or Polish language. They are closer to russian language. Learnig russian can help you to understand and speak CZ or PL. But in these countries, many people speak german, especially in CZ, then english and french. :wink_2:
