Just as we've entered a new year and a new page in the history of AC, I too hope that we can start fresh and make this forum an area that allows members of the AC Family: AC Mainline, AC Jazz, Tango, AC Jetz, and ZIP the opportunity to voice, discuss, and address concerns, stories, anecdotes, and anything else you think your colleagues would be interested in reading without personal insult or disrespect.

I welcome some new moderators to join me in the forum: Traveler, Bridget74, SFOFlyBoy, and of course Captain Gossip, and hope you will show them how wonderful we at AC really are!

I want to extend to everyone all the very best for 2003! And again, welcome to the NEW AC Forum!

Happy Posting,
Proudly AC :pilot_2:

Ooooo - did we really get spanked and I missed it??!!??

Geez, take a couple of days off for work and I missed some excitement. Thanks for the fresh start everyone - I think we will prove to ourselves and others that we can all rise above the past and forge ahead with dignity and grace.

All my best regards to all -

I must admit I'm quite embarrassed that AC's old forum had to be discontinued because of the many personal attacks that took place. Are we the only airline in this forum that this happened to? I certainly don't miss the mudslinging but do miss the true dialogue that took place in many instances. Are we now reduced to mundane posts about LOA's, layover info and favourite destinations? Is there any way we can truly communicate with each other about things close to our hearts without the attacks? I guess only the future will tell...

I agree with you that despite the mudslinging, we had some truly informative and productive discussions going in the old forum. I think there's potential here to take all the good and leave the negative stuff behind. I also feel it's worth a good effort on all our parts, anyway. :smile_2: If this means sticking to "safe" topics at first and then carefully making our way into deeper subjects, why not?

I feel the key is respect. So long as one can give it (even if you don't agree with someone), it usually shouldn't be a problem in receiving it. :wink_2:

I sincerely do hope that things close to your hearts will be discussed as well. I do think that "heavy debating" is possible, just be respectful towards someone with a different opinion. I also have to admit that if I introduced strict moderation some time ago, maybe the old forum was still open.. Well everybody makes mistakes. With the number of moderators we have now, there should be no problem. Please enjoy the new forum!

I too welcome the strong debates and informative threads that we had on the past forum - however, as everyone has noted with RESPECT. That means that even if you don't agree with the position, you have the right to present yours ABSENT any namecalling, swearing, personal attacks, etc. Everyone has the right to post their views, but just as you want yours to be respected, please respect others as well.

Happy Posting!
