Middle East carrier Emirates' reshuffle of its network timetable means that the carrier will be ten months behind schedule in launching its new flights between Dubai and New York JFK.
Emirates had originally planned to launch the Dubai-JFK route in June this year and follow it with a Dubai-Chicago O'Hare route in October.
However the carrier has pushed back the JFK launch to 1 April 2004 - ten months later than originally stated - and is instead intending to follow this with a service to San Francisco in the summer.
Emirates had planned to operate the New York with its new long-range Airbus A340-500 aircraft; it has now delayed the introduction of the type until the beginning of the winter schedule, when it will begin operating a daily non-stop service to Sydney.
The airline was immediately available to explain its moves.
