On the news this evening it was reported that Robert Milton will soon announce massive job cuts in the neighborhood of 10,000; roughly 25% of the operation.
Glad we have that iron-clad no lay-off clause. That was the best gain in this new contract... besides the bonus of course. I'd sure like to read the Zip language...is the paperback version out yet...can't afford hard covers. Good thing we will probably see some new wide bodies (I mean airplanes) in the near future eh, Was? I don't want to have to sit around watchin' Gerry Springer reruns while waiting for the call on reserve. Too bad those planes will be more empty than full. Heard a former CIA Covert Operations man gave a speech to the Vancouver Board of Trade meeting explaining how suicide bombers will appear and we can expect airlines to be targeted with sabotage when and he did say when the war begins. He even gave a date, Feb.21 I believe. Sales of Winnibego's should sky rocket as more and more Americans and Canadians become increasingly fearful of air travel. Mind you, the cost of filling one of those gas guzzlers could be tremendous. Maybe I'll buy some stock in a sattelite TV company istead of Winnibego or motorhome co's.
Good thing Pam and Richard managed to get the FSD bonus paid immediately after the contract vote. At least those very deserving husbands and others got something. Cash that cheque, quick!
Looks like this company is preparing for a sell off. Get ready to dust off those anti-Onex buttons.
