Singapore Airlines (SIA) is to turn four of its daily services from Manchester, UK to Singapore into non-stop flights from 31 March.
The carrier currently flies the route via Brussels using Boeing 747-400s but is to switch to non-stop 777-200s on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday eastbound, and Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday westbound.
SIA manager UK north, Eugene Lee, explains that because 50% of seats are currently sold out of Brussels, the net effect will be a 27% increase in capacity on Manchester-Singapore despite the switch to a smaller aircraft type.
Brussels will continue to be served three days per week.
