Northwest designates it's overwater equipped A320's as SR's. Does anyone know what the letters "S" "R" stand for?

Well, at AC the doors of some of the fleet that don't fly overwater routes are equipped with slides only. Doors of the overwater aircraft have slide/rafts. Maybe "SR" stands for "slide raft"?
