The BAHF from Toms River NJ is moving forward at this time to bring back to the skies once again,a great proptransport from yesteryear, the Boeing 377/C-97 "STRAT." SHE will become a "Flying Museum" of COLD WAR History & memorabilia. Also inside on display will be a section of history & memorabilia of Northwest Airlines that flew the mighty "STRAT" in the 50's decade. The 377 airliner in HER days had it all! There was the downstairs lounge in the rear with the circular stairway that sat 14 people. Then at night you had the sleeper section with births on top & bottom.Roomy & large bathrooms, men & womens. To ad to this way of travel was in the rear,a full galley to prepare meals. The military version of the 377 was the KC/C-97 type. This flew with the USAF in SAC squadrons as the primary airtanker in the 50's. The ANG units flew the mighty "STRAT" in the 60's & 70's. Only 2 of these fine Boeing proptransports that are still AIRWORTHY survive in the WORLD today. The BAHF C-97G & the Hawkins & Powers Firetanker out in Greybull WYO. Help & support is always welcomed to get involved in this great aviation project to preserve another great prop airliner from the past.See us at www.spiritoffreedom.org (http://www.spiritoffreedom.org) for more info
